Loved and Worthy & Pumpkin Pie Pancakes

Luke 12:6-7 (easy)

Think about this. People sell five birds for two small coins, don’t they? But each little bird is valuable to God. He knows about them all and takes care of them. God even knows how many hairs there are on your head. So, do not be afraid of those people who are against you. You are more valuable to God than many little birds.

Here’s another post about value and worth, specially yours and mine. I’m repeating the same topic a lot recently because it’s one that I need reminded of pretty constantly.

Human beings love creations. Furniture, art, photos – anything that allows us to express our personality or our interests, things that show our unique style or perspective. We get that love of creating and creations from God, because He made us like Him, and it’s pretty easy to see how crazy-creative God is. Every sunset, mountain peak, and tiny set of newborn toes show God’s creativity.

Often times, the worth of an object is determined by the creator. We see that all the time, right? Some photographers charge thousands while others charge hundreds. Some shoes and bags are $7 while others are $700.

This is the moment that you stop and realize that the creator of the universe also created you. He determines your worth; not society, not your spouse, not your parents. In fact, you don’t even get to determine your worth. You were created by a God who is only good, all the time. He made you, and he tells you that you are good. Not because of who you are or what you’ve done, but because of who He is and what He’s done.

So many of us (myself included!) are walking around, trying to please and impress, believing that if we just say the right thing or get to a certain income or status or title that we’ll be valuable. Here’s the best news: you can be set free from that belief and put down the heavy burden of carrying it, because your worth has already been determined. Your auction price has been set – priceless. Nothing you do can or will change that, because you don’t get a say in the matter. If God says you’re good, you’re good. It’s hard to swallow and harder to believe, but it’s true. Rest in that, friends. Return to that truth every time you feel like you’re not enough, not loved, or not worthy.

Do you feel loved, worthy, and valuable? Why or why not?

Ask the Lord to remind you of His feelings about you and for you today.
