Live Right & Omelette Roll-Ups

Isaiah 45:25 (erv)

The Lord will help the people of Israel live right and praise their God.

The Bible is filled to the brim with inspiration and encouragement, but for me, this verse pretty much takes the cake. This is God, telling His people that He’ll help them worship and live the right way.

I so often feel like I wish I could do better; be better. I know what’s right and what’s wrong, yet I tend to do the opposite. I have the desire to worship more and connect deeper with God, but I can’t seem to figure out how. I want to stop thinking a certain way and acting a certain way, but it just comes so naturally. It’s easy to feel stuck in these areas, because they seem so uncontrollable.

And the truth is, they are. For us. But not for God. God can help us in our thoughts, actions, and behaviors. He can help us in our prayers and our worship. He can take our very human ways and make them extraordinary.

When I feel like I’ll never get it right, that I’ll never do it well, I circle back to this verse. I try to focus on this promise from the Lord; He will help me to do the right things, and to worship in the way that He desires. This lifts such a huge burden and responsibility off of my shoulders. Who better to be in control of these things than the One who knows what living right actually looks like; the Receiver of praise and worship?

If you’re thinking that these daily messages have a certain theme to them, you’re right. So much of my source of struggle, anxiety, and fear is centered around one single concept: the desire to control. And so much of the promises God makes and the reassurances He gives us are centered around a similar, better concept: He’s in control.

That promise is meant to inspire us, lead us in the direction of hope, and make us feel like no matter what, it’s all going to be okay. Because the only One who actually can control everything, will.

Do you ever struggle with feeling conflicted in your behaviors or your worship? Do you desire to do something but find yourself doing the opposite? What can you let go of today, knowing that God is in control and will help you live right?

For God’s guidance and direction as you move through your day today.
