Is coaching the right fit for everyone? Well, no. But probably not because of the reasons you might be thinking.
All too often, I reach out to people who I think would be amazing coaches, people that I would be honored to have join my team, and I get the same response over and over again – it goes something like this: “I would LOVE to be a coach and work from home, but I’m just not in the best shape, so I don’t think anyone would really want to work with me.”
Somehow, the idea that you have to have a six pack, or have to weigh a certain number has taken over, and that concept is not only wrong, but it’s holding so many people back from a career that can open so many doors, windows, and sunroofs 😉
I have heard this SO often that I decided to make a short video about it, telling you exactly why being a coach BEFORE you reach your dream body can not only change your life, but the lives of so many others.
So if it’s not about having the perfect body, what are the other reasons that this job isn’t the right fit for everyone? There’s only two reasons, and I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that neither of them pertain to you. I know that because you’re taking the time to read this post in order to learn more about this opportunity.
- You don’t have the desire to work on yourself. This job is not about being perfect. If you have been following me for awhile, you know that I am far from it. However, it is about sharing your journey to being the best version of yourself. In order to be the best version of you, working on your mental and physical health is a necessity, right? So, six pack required? Absolutely not. Desire to be mentally and physically healthy and happy, and taking steps daily to get there? Yes and Yes.
- You don’t have the desire to help others. There is no way around that one. This job is all about being a tool to show other people how they can change their lives, whether that be physically, financially, or both. I don’t care if you’re the smartest, hardest working human alive – if you don’t have the best interest of others in your heart, you will not be a successful coach, at least not for very long.
That’s it. You heard it here first. All of these ideas that you need to showcase abs, plan meals, create workouts, be business savvy, have a million followers – no. Don’t get me wrong, each and every coach has their own assets that they bring to the team and to their challengers, and if one of those is yours, great! But if all you can say is that #1 and #2 don’t pertain to you, that’s all you need.
Sometimes, people are brought into our lives to show us how strong we can be. I didn’t have any of the “extra” assets that I mentioned when I started my coaching journey. But because I was passionate about helping others and creating a future for myself, I learned along the way, and now, I would love the opportunity to help you do the same. If you’ve been considering coaching, or have been wanting to reach out, don’t wait any longer – do it! Don’t let fear paralyze you from living any longer. Be brave, friends! There’s a lot of lives to change, and yours can be next!
