Philippians 4:11 (nirv)

I’m not saying that because I need anything. I have learned to be content no matter what happens to me.

Savior (Luke 1:47)

These are just a few of the many roles that God plays in our lives. It’s often difficult to remember, but in God, and God alone, we have all that we need – both now and forever. True contentment comes from acknowledging and accepting that truth.

If we continue to look outside of Him for our fulfillment, happiness, and purpose, we’ll continue to find ourselves falling short. It will always look like true happiness is just around the corner, and it certainly is, but only through learning to find our identities in Him.

Scan this list; I challenge you to find something that you truly need that isn’t listed here. If you do, turn to the Word to see how God will be that thing or satisfy that need. There’s nothing we need that God won’t provide to us or be for us. “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him” (Matthew 7:11 NLT).

If we believe the Word of God, then our next step as Christians is to start living like it. We’re provided with everything, yet so many of us walk around like we’re lacking. Vertical Worship sings an incredible song called “If I Have You” and the chorus says, “If I have You and nothing else, I have everything”. What an amazing truth to be reminded of today!

Friends, we’ve been talking a lot of gratitude and acknowledging our blessings, but this understanding is the greatest of all; God always has been and always will be the only thing we need in this life, and in the next.

What are some of the things you think you need but haven’t yet received? Search this list to see how God is already providing that for you. If you don’t find it here, pull out your Bible and locate a verse that speaks to you about this particular issue or need in your life. Be patient; God will reveal it at the very right time.

For all of your false needs to fall away as you focus on God being your one and only.

Tips & Tools

If you don’t have any chickpea flour on hand, spelt flour and whole wheat flour both work for this recipe as well! Note: if you’re using whole wheat flour, it may require a bit more liquid! If necessary, add additional almond milk, 1 tablespoon at a time!
