To salad, or not to salad – seems like an easy question to answer, right? Obviously, a salad seems like a logical, healthy choice. It’s probably one of the main food choices that’s thought of when someone thinks of eating healthy.
Unfortunately, in today’s chemical and fast-food filled world, most salads are actually not that healthy. If you check out the nutrition info for lots of restaurants, you might be surprised to find that the salads often have equal or higher calories than the burgers.
How can the calories from a salad even be in the same ballpark as a burger? Dressing. While there are salads that contain some not-so-healthy ingredients like bacon, fried bread, etc., the majority of the time, the culprit is the salad dressing.
Once I learned that pre-made salad dressing was filled with huge amounts of calories, fat, sugar, and chemicals, I pretty much stopped eating salad. I knew I could create a healthy and yummy base, but I was confused on how to dress it. I don’t care how much you love veggies, eating a dry bunch of spinach is hard to make enjoyable.
I went years without eating a salad because of this. It wasn’t until I did the Ultimate Reset a few months ago that I had another salad. And I loved it. Like head over heels in love. Can I tell you not to be freaked out by the ingredients? You probably don’t have the majority of them in your house – but there’s only 5 ingredients total, and you’ll be able to grab everything you need for less than $10. And you’ll be able to make SO many servings out of these.
