Doing Good & Cheesecake Parfait

Galatians 6:9 (icb)

We must not become tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up!

Doing good can be tiring. Truthfully, it’s exhausting sometimes. But that’s no surprise to God, which is why these instructions are written here specifically for us.

And during those times, where it seems like we’ve worn out our will to be kind, we can look to God as an example. He’s set the standard for doing good, because He has an endless supply of kindness and goodness that He pours out for us.

Not only has He set the example, He’s given us His Spirit. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, “God gave us his Spirit. And the Spirit doesn’t make us weak and fearful. Instead, the Spirit gives us power and love. He helps us control ourselves (NIRV).” We may feel like we’re unable to continue doing good, but God’s Spirit is within us, and He never tires of doing good. His Spirit sustains us and guides us. Where our flesh fails, His Spirit continues on, stronger than we could ever imagine.

Do you ever feel tired of doing good? If so, what makes you feel that way?

Ask the Lord to use you for His good today as He sustains your strength with His own.
