Exodus 33:7-9 (erv)
When I read this passage, one thing stood out to me; the manner in which Moses talked to the Lord. And not specifically the words he used, but the way He approached God.
He had a dedicated meeting place and time to connect with God. Just like a romantic relationship with your significant other, intimacy isn’t always spontaneous. Sometimes, the planning and preparing for the connection means more than any impromptu connection.
The way that Moses was incredibly intentional with his conversations with the Lord teaches us how to have some of our best connections with Him. That’s not to say that prayer can’t be spontaneous and happen anywhere, but Moses shows us that there’s also a time and a place for dedicated prayer.
Do you set aside a dedicated time to prayer each day? What about a dedicated location that you go to meet with the Lord? Looking forward, plan where and when you’ll begin to meet with Him each day.
Take some time to talk things over with the Lord today; use this as your dedicated meeting time with Him to discuss anything that’s on your heart and mind.
