As some of you may have seen from my social media accounts, I had way too much fun in Nashville this past weekend. I had tacos, pizza, drinks, drinks, more drinks. Not the ideal way to behave, especially when you’re away for a training for your health coach job! But, I’m human and I had lots of fun with my team of humans. A 6 hour drive home made me realize how crappy I was really feeling, and I was lucky enough to have a 3 Day Refresh at home waiting for me, so on Monday, I jumped right on it.
I typically try to do the 3 Day Refresh every 6 weeks or so, just to reset my system, clear out any toxins, and stay on the straight and narrow. Normally, it’s not that difficult – sure, I miss my greek yogurt, but it’s more than manageable. This time around, I was really feeling it. Food is like a drug, when you go from having lots of it, and all the wrong stuff, to detoxing, you go into craving mode. So this was probably the hardest time I’ve had with it, but I made it through, and feel great now!
If you are thinking about doing the Refresh, I definitely recommend it! It’s such a short amount of time to see amazing results, not only physically, but mentally. It also makes starting a more long term program MUCH easier.
Every day, you’ll have Shakeology in the morning for breakfast, with fruit.
Then comes the only part this is kind of well…ehhhh. It’s called a fiber sweep, that name pretty much says it all. It’s just fiber mixed with water, and it’s not even the taste that is hard, it’s the texture. BUT – I found a solution that helps a little. Adding very cold water, 1 ice cube, a dash of cinnamon and a dash of pumpkin pie spice, and blending. It’s not terrible, definitely manageable, just prepare yourself. In my hast to get it this done every day, I totally forgot to take a picture, but I saved one from a previous round, so you can see this magical potion.
Lunch is always one of my favorites. I know that sounds funny, but the protein shake that comes in the package is so good, it’s vanilla and kind of tastes like cake. Not everyone feels that way about it, but I really like it. Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon and blend! Plus, you get real food too! It’s a really filling lunch! As you can see, I’m kind of a creature of habit and didn’t get too creative with my choices, but it works for me, and I know what I like, so why change it?
Dinner is another one of my favorite shakes, and then a choice of 6 different recipes that come with the cleanse. I actually have only tried 2 different ones, because when I buy something to use for it, I like to use it up instead of wasting it. So I don’t get super creative, but again, I always like it, so I never have a reason to try anything else.
And as always, I’m happy with my physical transformation, because I see less bloating and more definition. But more importantly, I feel better, not as lethargic, and don’t feel that constant stomach ache any more. I try not to let numbers define anything about me, but for the sake of giving out info, I lost 2.4 pounds, which I will try to put back on (with good stuff!) quickly, 1.5 inches in my waist, 0.5 inches in each thigh, and 1 inch in my booty.
