On The ‘Gram

  • Day 1 is in the books! Headed back for day 2 today. If you’re someone who’s never skied or you want to get better and more confident on the slopes, I highly recommend taking lessons! They are so helpful and I’m positive I would have never progressed as much as I have.
.
Also, my favorite cookie place in the entire world is here in Breck and I honestly eat one every day I’m here. Last night we were walking by and they had a sign up that said, “closed early for Christmas party!” and I was super bummed because I wouldn’t be able to get one. But on our way back from dinner, there were 3 huge buckets outside filled with FREE cookies! Isn’t that the best surprise ever? Details on this magical cookie shop will be in my Breck travel guide, coming soon! 🍪
  • Welcome to one of my favorite places on planet earth 📍Breckenridge, CO. I didn’t know I liked cold vacations until we came here. It’s such a magical place of snow and sunshine, mountains, amazing food, small town feels, and the kindest people. Don’t worry, writing a weekend travel guide pronto - stay tuned!
.
Today, we’re hitting the slopes for the first time this season. I’m not a great skier but I’ve been learning a little more each time and definitely improving, but I still get super nervous every time! 😬 Also dying to try snowboarding, but trying to survive one thing at a time! Hope your Thursday is sunny and full of adventure, friends!
  • I love exercise, but for most of my life, I’ve had to work extra hard to find equipment and classes that work for my petite frame… anyone else feel like their legs are just a little too short for most machines? So when I learned about the Activ5, I was so excited to try it out. It’s a tiny little device that comes with big benefits. Using nothing but body weight, the Activ5 allows you to perform isometric, strength-training exercises, and tracks them all right in the app. The best part is that it’s totally customizable to each person, so there’s no one-size-fits-all machines and equipment to navigate.
.
Activbody understands that each person has different strengths and abilities and wants to make fitness and healthy living accessible to everyone, which is why they’re teaming up with the Challenged Athletes Foundation for the remainder of this year. Thanksgiving might be over, but the season of giving is not! Cyber Monday is the perfect time to shop online to find the perfect gift for your loved ones. This holiday season, you can give the gift of giving, since Activbody will be donating 5% of their sales proceeds to CAF to benefit athlete’s living with physical disabilities. Now is the perfect time to bring an Activ5 home for you or a loved one. How will you be giving back this holiday season? Click the link in my bio to read more about the features and benefits of this little device! #CAF #Activ5 #GivingMakesUsStronger
  • If you binge eat Christmas sweets while you binge watch Christmas movies, they cancel each other out. It’s science.
.
Gave this Christmas Tree Cake my best attempt, and it’s a little oddly-shaped 😂😂 But it was fun to pull out all my baking tools and pretend to be a pastry chef for a minute. We’re leaving for our annual ski trip in a few days and I’m just over here making the kitchen messier instead of packing. ✌🏼 Hope your long holiday weekend was filled with all the spirits! 😏Happy Sunday!
  • Team Real Tree over here! Every year when I’m sweeping up needles into February, I vow that the next tree will be artificial, but I grew up going to cut down our family Christmas tree with my dad every year, and I know it just won’t be the same if we don’t continue the tradition. Although I’m so jealous of all those beautiful artificial trees so many of y’all have that are clean and don’t require watering.
.
But, this year is kind of different because we got our tree from a city tree lot! Not exactly the same experience, but I’m all about embracing the space we’re in, and this year, it’s city tree lots!
.
Do you decorate with an artificial tree or a live tree? 🎄
  • We try to keep it to sweaters and pants with elastic waistbands on this holiday 😬 Spending the rest of the night decorating gingerbread cookies, because sugar is my love language. Hope you turkeys had a great day!
.
Also, these pants are the perfect fit for my fellow shorties, and they’re kids! 😂 linking in stories!
  • It’s here, it’s here!! I’m so excited to finally hit publish on my 2019 Holiday Gift Guide: The Fitness Lovers Edition! And now, it’s live on my blog!
.
This year, I decide to create a holiday gift guide around some of my favorite and must have fitness essentials so you all have something to share with your fam when they ask the dreaded, “what do you want this year?” question. Or, if you need somewhere to spend your Christmas cash, this guide has all the goodies!
.
There’s 18 of my must-haves featured, including one of my new favorite toys, the @feetup inversion trainer! But no more spoilers, you’ll have to click the link [in bio now] to check out the other goodies! And don’t forget to save this post to come back to anytime during the holiday season by clicking on the little flag in the bottom right corner!
  • You know what I realized today, out of nowhere? I’m happier now than I’ve been in a long time. For so long, i was chasing happiness, like literally seeking it out. And in the process, I was trying to control everything and everyone around me.
.
It wasn’t until life actually kinda got away from me and that it just started happening that I found myself enjoying the day to day. I can only credit it to a few things - first, I continue to force myself out of my comfort zone and to do things that I would have said no to in the past. And second, I’m giving myself so much freedom to enjoy and experience exercise and fitness in a new way.
.
More on that soon, because I think it deserves a specific post of its own, so for now, I’ll just say, yay for new beginnings and fresh starts. Chicago, you’re really bringing out the best in me 😏 |pc: @aesthetiica
